Our Story
PAWPRINT KIN started with a simple idea: the people who love their pets most usually dress like it, so why not make apparel that celebrates that bond on purpose? We noticed that most "pet lover" clothing on the market was either an afterthought, a clip-art paw print slapped on a blank tee, or novelty pieces that looked more like costumes than clothes you would actually want to wear out. We wanted something in between: apparel with real design intention, fabrics that hold up to dog-park mornings and coffee-shop afternoons, and designs people are glad to wear every day.
What began as a small set of graphic tee ideas has grown into a collection covering dog breeds, cats, florals, seasons, and outdoor adventures. Every design starts with a simple question: would we actually wear this, and would our own pets actually be comfortable around it? If the answer to either is no, it does not make the cut.
We are a small, independent team, and we run this business the way most pet owners run their households: a little chaotic, with a lot of care, and always with a dog or two underfoot. Before a design goes into production we look at how it photographs, how the fabric holds up after repeated washing, and whether the fit actually works for the people who will wear it every day.
Every piece we sell is designed for the person wearing it, not the pet, which means we can focus on getting fabric weight, print durability, and sizing right instead of trying to solve for animal comfort and human comfort at the same time. That focus shows up in details like tag-free necklines, pre-shrunk cotton blends, and prints that are set to survive dozens of wash cycles without cracking or fading.
Our Mission
Our mission is to make apparel that lets people show up for the relationship that often means the most to them, the one with their pet, without sacrificing comfort, durability, or style. We believe clothing inspired by pets should not be a novelty item worn once for a photo; it should hold up to actual errands, actual weather, and actual life.
We also believe in being straightforward about what we sell. We do not inflate claims about our products, we do not run fake countdown timers or manufacture urgency, and we stand behind every item with a genuine 30-day return window, because trying something on at home is the only real way to know if it fits the way you expected.
Transparency extends to how we talk about our own limitations too. We are not a giant retailer with warehouses across the country, which means some items may take a little longer to restock than a big-box competitor. What we can offer instead is a smaller catalog that we actually stand behind, and a support inbox that a real person reads and answers.
What We Make
Our current collection spans six categories, each built around a different way people express their love for their dog or cat:
- Cat Lovers - graphic tees featuring tropical kittens, moon cats, and other feline designs
- Dog Lovers - graphic tees celebrating favorite breeds, from cheerful Corgis to loyal Huskies
- Floral Pets - pets surrounded by flowers, leafy gardens, and butterflies
- Seasonal Pets - autumn dogs, woodland scenes, and designs for every time of year
- Adventure Pets - mountain trails, forest campsites, and ocean waves
- Cozy Pet Life - bookish dogs, baking cats, and sleepy kittens
We keep our catalog focused rather than sprawling. Instead of chasing every possible product category, we would rather have a small catalog we are proud of than two hundred pieces we are not. Each design goes through a few rounds of internal review before it is added to the site, and we retire designs that do not perform well or that we no longer feel represent the brand.
Quality & Fit
We use pre-shrunk cotton blends chosen for softness and durability through repeated washing. We include a size chart on every product page and update our fit notes based on real customer feedback, because a shirt that measures perfectly on a spec sheet does not always wear the way you would expect once it is on.
Print quality matters just as much as fabric. We favor techniques that hold color and detail through the wash rather than the cheapest print method available, since a graphic that cracks or fades after a few washes is not something we are willing to sell, even if it would be less expensive to produce.
Our Promise to You
If something you ordered does not fit right or is not what you expected, we want to know. Email us and we will make it right, whether that means an exchange, a return, or just some sizing advice for next time. We ship every order with the same care we would want for our own purchase, and our small team personally reviews customer questions rather than routing them through a bot.
We are not trying to be the biggest pet-inspired apparel brand out there. We are trying to be the one you actually recommend to a friend at the dog park, the one whose tee you still reach for a year after you bought it, and the one that answers your email when something goes wrong instead of hiding behind a contact form that leads nowhere.
As we grow, we plan to add new designs based on what customers ask for most, rather than guessing at trends from a spreadsheet.
